ST. THOMAS OF VILLANOVA SCHOOL, Palatine, Illinois 1991-2007
Elementary Art Teacher, Kindergarten through 8th Grade
      • Designed and authored: K-8 Art Curriculum following the Illinois Art Education State Standards, Arts Assessment program, integrated and interrelated art lessons coordinated with curriculum.
      • Created school's Permanent Art Collection, Monthly Spotlight on Art newsletter and obtained funding through the Home School Association.
      • Applied donation towards the creation, design and implementation of a large, school tile mural with participation from students, staff, parents and parish community.
      • Initiated 9/11 Memorial montage paintings dedicated to the victims of the September 11th attack. Wrote, facilitated and lead the 9/11 Memorial service. Covered by local press.
      • Submitted student artwork in local visual arts competitions, taught After School Art Club
      • Provided school Art Display for annual Fall Open House and coordinated the Arts & Sciences Festival featuring multi-media presentations of student artwork.
      • Coordinated 5th and 6th grade annual field trip to The Art Institute of Chicago museum. Obtained funding through the Home School Association.
      • Established the Polaroid Education Program, receiving 30 Polaroid cameras, introducing Photography into the Art Curriculum at the Junior High level and obtained funding for annual Polaroid instant film supply.
      • Many alumni of school arts program went on to receive Scholastic Arts awards, Great Frame Up show participation/awards, high-school arts achievement recognition and higher-education in the arts
