Pricing

These factors are considered in estimating the final price of a project:

  • wall surface type and preparation
  • size and location of the space
  • level of detail
  • style and complexity of subject matter
  • products used
  • total number of hours
  • environmental conditions and obstacles
  • whether scaffolding is required
  • travel distance
  • sub-contracting for additional trades

The contracted work is priced by the individual project, not by the hour. Once you receive a contract for your project, the price will not change even if more time is spent than originally expected. However, there are charges for additional services or changes that were not in the initial agreement.

Initial Contact

During your initial contact which is usually over telephone, we will discuss your ideas, type of project and time frame. As much information and details you can provide will be helpful in preparing visual resources and research prior to your consultation. During the initial contact, I will schedule your consultation for a mutually convenient time. Because of the many factors in determining an estimate, it is not viable to give an estimate of price over the phone without seeing the space.

Consultation

During this one hour on-site meeting, I will view the space, discuss your ideas in depth, share my portfolio, provide color consultation, discuss preparation and make recommendations about options. I will also take room measurements and possibly digital photos of the area.

The fee for the 1-hour consultation is $50, payable at the time of service. This amount will be applied towards your final price, due at the completion of the work. Clients who would require a longer consultation can arrange a extended consultation and be provided with a rate.

Design, Quote, and Sketch

At conclusion of the consultation you will be provided with a written quote. Should faux finishing or basecoat painting be required prior to mural work/decorative art, a separate quote will be provided by the sub-contractor. Should you decide to prepare the wall surface yourself, a satin or semi-gloss paint is preferred.

The preparatory, final sketch and color samples will be presented for your approval prior to work being done. Sketches or samples are retained and property of the artist.

After approving the sketch, samples and quote, a 50% deposit is required. This also reserves your start date.

Custom canvas murals, which are completed in my studio, are delivered or shipped free of charge. These murals, on average, cost 5-10% less than on-site work. For more information visit the custom canvas page.

Creation of Your Custom Work

Once your start date is scheduled and creating begins, you can sit back and enjoy the process.

If this is a cambric cloth canvas mural/decorative work painting being completed in my studio, a date will be scheduled to have the work installed by a professional craftsman.

Gift Certificates are available and are a brilliant way to give someone you care for a unique gift. A Gift Certificate for mural or decorative painting is a wonderful way to give someone special a gift that allows them to custom create their own dream right on the wall.
